Hi there! These are the terms for using CLF (China Local Friends). We've written them in plain language so they're easy to understand. By using our service, you agree to these terms.
What We Do
CLF provides travel assistance for visitors to China through WhatsApp. We offer two services:
- Trip Planning Buddy ($19.99). We help you plan your China trip through ongoing WhatsApp conversations. Ask us anything: itinerary advice, visa info, hotel area recommendations, transportation tips, food suggestions, budget planning, and more. It's a one-time payment with unlimited messages. Think of it as having a knowledgeable Chinese friend you can text anytime while planning your trip.
- On-Trip Assistant ($25.99/day or $139.99/7 days). Real-time support while you're in China. We help with translation, restaurant ordering, navigation, making phone calls on your behalf, and solving day-to-day travel challenges as they come up.
All services are delivered through WhatsApp. Our service hours are 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM Beijing Time (GMT+8), 7 days a week.
What We Are (and Aren't)
Let's be upfront about this:
- We're real people who live in China and want to help you have a great trip. Think of us as a knowledgeable friend, not a travel agency.
- We provide information, advice, and translation help. We don't book hotels, buy tickets, or make payments on your behalf.
- Our advice is based on local experience, not professional expertise. It's not a substitute for legal, medical, or financial advice.
- When we make phone calls for you, we do our best to communicate accurately, but we can't be held responsible for what third parties (restaurants, hotels, etc.) promise or deliver.
- We're not responsible for the quality of third-party services we recommend. A restaurant we love might have an off day. That's out of our control.
Payment
- All prices are in US Dollars (USD).
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details.
- By completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms of Service.
Refunds
We want you to be happy with our service. Here's our refund policy in brief:
- Trip Planning Buddy: Full refund if you cancel before we respond to your first message. Once our team has replied to your first message, the service is considered started and is non-refundable.
- On-Trip Assistant: Not satisfied? Request a full refund within the first 24 hours. For the 7-day package, unused full days can be refunded proportionally (used days are charged at $25.99/day).
- Request refunds through WhatsApp. We process them within 24 hours, and it takes 5–10 business days for the money to reach your account.

Important Disclaimers
- We are not an emergency service. In an emergency, call China's emergency number: 120 (medical), 110 (police), or 119 (fire).
- Our response time and service quality depend on network conditions and information availability. We always try our best, but sometimes things take a bit longer.
- We reserve the right to decline or discontinue service if it's being used inappropriately (harassment, illegal activities, etc.).
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll note the new date at the top of this page. Continuing to use our service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
